The assault caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
